Hi everyone,
This is my regular weekly post to let you know what we intend to cover in the session and an example of photo editing using PS Elements.
This week we will start to explore the huge Filters section and the range of effects which can be created with just a few clicks of the mouse. To the right are two versions of the same picture of a well known local landmark. The second one has a Artistic Filter applied, I used the Watercolour effect filter. Try this on a picture of your choice and then try one of the many other filters from this section.
had good time today useing various filters and noting their results hard part was logging into this blog, my 2nd attempt so if you are getting this twice I am very sorry to waste your time

Much enjoyed the session using artistic filters - particularly cut out. Tutorials using PSE7 is very helpful as most of us now have this installed at home.

Have got into the Blogspot page and have created a Google Account, so this is my first attempt at posting a comment.... more later. Carol B
ReplyDeleteWell it worked, but I didn't post my first one at 3.48am! Anyway I enjoyed our lesson on artistic filters last week, and have experimented at home. Thanks for the tip on using the magic wand to highlight and enhance a dark foreground. Carol B
ReplyDeleteHave to admit to being a little confused this week when we covered Image Resolution having not done this before, but it did become a little clearer as the lesson progressed. The course handouts Siddique sent us the following day will be very useful to refer back to. Looking forward to the next session on Panoramic shots. Carol B
ReplyDeleteresolutions always confuse me too and am not always sure where i need to use them but hope to do better with the panorama at the next class

I thought the panorama session was really interesting, and so simple to do when you know how. This will be really useful to enhance my collection of Pembrokeshire coastal shots. Have also done some more experimenting with filters with some excellent results. Carol B
ReplyDeletepanorama turned out exellent and so much easier in elements7 This week onto motion filters, they make such a differanceto a still picture explored other filters to see results, some very interesting ones and some fun to explore
ReplyDeleteHave experimented with the motion and distort filters you covered while I was on holiday with some interesting and hilarious results. After last week's lesson on lighting effects it has made me more aware of how the professionals create their illusions. Carol B
ReplyDeleteDespite your best efforts to guide us through this complex lesson on selecting and replacing an item (skies), I kept getting lost amongst the "layers". But having tried at home using the helpful notes you emailed to us, and after getting together with my friend and fellow DI enthusiast I managed it no problem.
